TID-Rollover

TID-Rollover

Notice: Pre-Paid Meter Token Identifier (TID) Rollover

To recharge a prepaid meter, a user enters a unique 20-digit number called a token. This token is encoded with a unique value called a token ID or TID, for short. When a meter accepts a token, it stores the token ID (TID) to prevent the same token from being accepted more than once. The upper limit of these unique token IDs (TID) will be reached by 24 November 2024. On this day, the token ID (TID) values will be ‘rolled over’ back to zero. Hence the name, TID Rollover.

To prepare for the TID rollover, prepaid meter software needs to be updated from STS Edition 1 to STS Edition 2 so that the meter is configured to accept tokens for these new ‘rolled over’ token ID (TID) values. If this is not done, the prepaid meter will not be able to accept tokens. Prepaid electricity meter software must be updated before 24 November 2024. If not, users won’t be able to recharge and will be left without access to electricity.

In preparation of this we are required to update the meter records and, ask all residents to please complete a short questionnaire that can be viewed on your mobile phone. Questionnaire

Scan the QR code to complete the questionnaire.

We understand that some residents might need assistance to complete this questionnaire, and we request that you be in contact with the trustees to assist in this matter.

Once this has been completed over the next few weeks, a member of the trustees will have to physically visit your unit to rollover the meter. The physical rollover is a quick process that usually takes about 10-15 minutes.

As we approach this phase, a schedule will be made available to inform residents when a visit will be made to your specific section.

We thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
